Mrs. Downs is your Board of Education Member for District #4. She lives at 830 Arthur Mattingly Road in Lebanon and is married to Steve Downs. They have three children, Christine Downs, Mark Downs, and Leslie Wease, and three grandchildren, Pressley, Makayla, and Ruby.

Mrs. Downs attended Fern Creek High School, acquired an associate’s degree in Early Education from St. Catharine College, a Bachelor’s of Science in Social Work from Spalding University, and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Louisville.

She has worked for Marion County Public Schools for 21+ years as a bus driver, bus driver trainer, secretary, and substitute teacher and was a soccer coach. Later in her career she worked for Child Protective Services for more than ten years and now volunteers her time to many organizations.

She is an alumni of Marion County Leadership Lebanon and an active member of the Marion County and the Kentucky Cattlemen’s Association. She is also a member of the St. Francis Xavier Parish Council and the Marion County Women’s Club.

Mrs. Downs is passionate about her family, community, and especially the students of Marion County Public Schools. She has been a Marion County Board of Education Member since January 2017.
