The Family Literacy Program was created to help families meet their educational goals. Various classes and activities are offered to help ensure these goals are met. For the parents, we offer GED preparation, Adult Basic Education, English as a Second Language and educational parenting. There are also cooking classes, crafts and activities for parents and children to participate in together. The only requirement for the Family Literacy Program is that at least one parent have an educational goal.
The Family Literacy Program is located at the Adult and Family Learning Center at 102 Hamilton Heights, across from the Lebanon Housing Authority and behind Walgreens. The center is open Monday thru Friday beginning at 8:30. Specific classes are scheduled at various times each day so prospective students are encouraged to stop by or call to see when the classes that will meet their needs are offered. We try to schedule our classes to accommodate our students. GED, Adult Basic Education and English as a Second Language classes are also offered at the center to those not enrolled in the Family Literacy Program. Anyone enrolled in the Adult Education Program at the center may also participate in the cooking classes and other activities.
